This antique Chinese ginger jar is decorated with underglazed floral motif in cobalt blue, with Double Happiness symbols on the front and back, and corresponding symbol on the lid. Dates to Qing Dynasty c. In Chinese weddings, jars with happy lids are custom-made and placed in pairs on tables for decoration. Double happiness adorns this ginger jar with wishes for love, companionship and marital bliss. 8″ x 9.5″. Very good antique condition, some age-related wear (see pics).
