This beautiful bowl from the Qing dynasty is a perfect addition to any antique collection. Made of porcelain/pottery, it features a lovely crackleware design with a GE style iron brown footrim. The bowl measures 18 cm in diameter and is an original antique from the late 19th century. With its origins in China, this bowl is steeped in history and culture. Its intricate details and delicate craftsmanship are a testament to the skill of the artisans who created it. This “GE” bowl is a revival piece from the Qing dynasty as indicated by the applied iron enamel on the footrim which recreates the oxidised appearance of the unglazed parts of Song pieces. Although a “reproduction” of a mediæval type, it is guaranteed to be several hundred years old. It has a double crackle: the first, larger, crackle being stained before the small unstained crackle had time to develop. A beautiful piece, in the finest condition.
