China Chinese Pair of Porcelain “Da Ji” Double Gourd Wall Plaques Qing Dynasty ca. The plaques each molded as a flattened double gourd supported on a simulated wood stand and tied at the waist with a long flowing green ribbon, the upper section of the body decorated in magenta and gilt with a medallion enclosing the character. All reserved on a trellis-diaper ground and encircled by five gilt- enameled bats forming the. The lower section similarly decorated with the character. All surmounted by a gilded bat at the white-glazed mouth. The plaques each measure 14 inches high without the frame X 9 3/4. X 3/4 inches thick, the frame measures 20 X 14 X 1 3/4 inches (both are framed one was removed to photograph). One of the frames has a crack as you can see in the picture.
